Melquiades LLANES: looking for friends & Family
We are looking for referrals and any information regarding Kula Sanatorium worker/nurses aide Mr. Melquiades Llanes.
Here’s what little we know: He was born on 6 Dec 1902, somewhere in the Philippines; possibly Laoag, Ilocos Norte. He died in June 1974, possibly at home in Wailuku, Maui (isle), Hawaii.
In the 1930 US Census/Territorial of Hawaii Census he was single, but living I a border’s/dormitory home in Makawao, Maui (isle), Hawaii. It is possible that he was in Hawaii before the 1920 census.
According to his obituary [Honolulu Star Bulletin(3 Aug 1974)page B18], he died single, but was survived by two brothers and three sisters: Perfecto Llanes of Paia, Maui (isle), Hawaii; Jose Llanes in the Philippines; Mrs. Lorencia Ll. Villarmino, Esperanza Ll. Pamani, Mrs. Alejandria Ll. Pamani: the last four siblings were recorded to be in the Philippines as of Aug 1974.
