This is an addition to my first posting, "need help w/ 1937 adoption-Oahu, HI". I'm currently trying to help my mom find relatives of her birth family. After talking a little more to my mom I've found a little more information... My mother, Doris Cosme lived on 244 Auwaiolimu Street in Pauoa from 1937-1954, from there she moved to Aina Haina on Opihi Street. This was the home of her older adopted sister Thelma Nelson. On Auwaiolimu Street also lived her previous mentioned Godfather Thomas Piialii Kailiuli, the Amunson Family, Dorothy and Walter. Dorothy and Walter at that time made a living by making and selling leis. Also on Auwaiolimu Street was my mom's adopted mothers sister, Adeline Diaz, who eventually married Thomas Kailiuli sometime after 1954 or 1955. Adeline had 3 children Harold, June, and Gilbert. My moms Godfather had a brother-in-law that was always around by the name of Louie Nailima, but my mom can't remember Louie's wife. Louie had at least 2 kids, Margie and Elaine Nailima. Elaine was actually also "hanai" out & lived with my mother at the Cosme's house. The Cosme's birth children were, (in birth order) Julia, Elsie, Albert, and Thelma. At this time the youngest Thelma is about 84 or 85 years old, so about 15 years older than my mom. My mother Doris and another girl May Salamanca were actually adopted by the Cosmes & carried that last name. However, they always had foster children in and out of the house throughout her childhood. Again, please if anyone is related or has any information on any of the people named, please reply. All information is greatly appreciated. Names mentioned: Manuel Cosme Mary (Elias) Cosme Thomas Piialii Kailiuli Louie Nailima Margie Nailima Elaine Nailima Dorothy Amunson Walter Amunson Adeline Diaz Notify Administrator about this message?
