Johanna Erickson obit submitted
Johanna Erickson, the daughter of Martin and Gretje Duis Heyen, was born on April 11, 1906 in Pennington County near Thief River Falls, MN. She moved with her family at a young age to a farm in Bloom Twsp., Nobles Co., MN. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. Johanna was united in marriage to Edward Erickson in 1937. After their marriage they lived in Green Lake, MN. After Edward’s death in 1948 she returned to the family farm in Nobles County. In her later years she moved to Worthington, MN. Johanna entered the South Shore Care in August of 1994 and passed away there on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the age of 100. She was a member of the Immanuel American Lutheran Church, rural Fulda, MN where she belonged to ladies aid.
Survivors include her two sisters-in-law, Marion Heyen of Slayton, MN and Rachel Heyen of Fulda, MN and one nephew and four nieces. She is preceded in death by her, husband, her parents, two sisters, Elsie Jacobs and Elizabeth Heyen, two brothers, Herbert Heyen and Henry Heyen and one nephew, Ronald Heyen.
Funeral services at Immanuel American Lutheran Church rural Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 with the Rev. Kristi Mitchell officiating. The organist is Marlene Sievers. Interment at the Immanuel American Lutheran Cemetery rural Fulda, MN.
