Leanne,
Thanks for the responce.Sounds very interesting - can't wait to hear about your progress on Thomasine.
It is unlikely that Nancy and I are related.I do have a cousin Nancy but she is in Vancouver right now.My gr 2x grandfather Joseph Wood passed thru Chicago in the 1830's or 1840's on his way to the Wisconsin Rapids area and married Matilda Compton but all the family moved on to Wisconsin Rapids in about 1843.
Going back on the Francis Haydon line I have Edward, Edward, Francis(of the grove), Henry, William, William, John, Richard, Simeon, William, William, Thomas and Samuel.
Any thoughts on if Richard deHaydon might be Samuels father or grandfather. He is mentioned in association with the Earl of Warren?
I have very little information on our common grandfathers William, George and George from then on I have quite a bit.I have located George's oldest son Jeremiah's son George's homestead in Grassy Lick Ky.I think it may have been the location of where George and Jeremiah first came and settled. There are remnants of the old log cabin and root cellar on the property.A Haydon cousin still lives on the property!!He is 92 years old.
Can't wait to hear more about Tomasine and to compare notes further.
Regards,
Mark Wood
