Niagara Co., NY: Hewitt/Hewett, Tompkins, Waggonr

Is anyone aware of a relationship between Lydia Waggoner (wife of Joseph P. Hewitt) and Cornelia Waggoner (wife of Samuel Tompkins, Jr)? I believe Cornelia was the sister of my gg-grandfather, Oscar F. Waggoner, who was born in Dunham, Missisqoi Co., Canada, circa 1814. I recently discovered Lydia was also born in Dunham. Cornelia (1809-1846) was born "near Montreal" (Dunham is just south of Montreal) and died in Niagara Co. Lydia (c. 1802-1878) died in Niagara Co. I suspect that John Waggoner, listed on the 1850 Wheatfield, Niagara Co. census, was also a sibling. John (1806-1874) was born in Canada East or Vermont and died in Burr Oaks, Winnishiek Co., Iowa.
