Looking for help re: Catherine Hettinger, born about 1850 according to census data. Married Daniel Frank Wanamaker and had the following children: Alvin, Benjamin, Feoilia, George, Franccis, Sylvester, Lewis Albert and Clara. In 1870 and 1880, living with husband and fam in Lynn Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. In 1900, living in Jacksonville, Lehigh Co., PA. In 1910, living again in Lynn Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. I suspect she was also born in Lehigh Co., but I'm having a hard time tracking down her parentage. Any ideas? In the 1860 census, there is an 11 year old Catherine Hettinger listed, with no relationship noted, in a household headed by Jonas German in Heidelberg Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. When going through the 1860 census for Lehigh Co and Berks Co., I noticed quite a few Hettingers under the age of 20, randomly distributed throughout several apparently unrelated households in singles or pairs, sometimes listed as laborers but oftentimes just tacked on and listed under the children of the head of household. It makes me wonder if Catherine's parents were killed, scattering the children to surrounding families? Any help is greatly appreciated! Notify Administrator about this message?
