Thanks for the help. I just got an email from Ann Heatherington finding that spelling back in 1880. But i think your right about people not knowing how to spell or sounding it out right. I'm am looking into the whole Irish poverty in New York during the coming over from the "Great Potato Famine". As well as the Irish Mafia style that was there in the 1800's. I know this made a rip and not all Irish happy about each other, last names were fighting words even before leaving Ireland, the name is from Scotland and England as well. I think that is why it seems a chase to find people, they are everywere :)BTW I do have an Al Hetheriton as a family member, by marriage though. It is so hard to find my family, my father died when i was 7mos old, and my mother moved us to San Diego. There all contacts were lost till I put out an add in the Hannible, MO paper last year, hey, it worked, found some of them. Well thanks again for repling.
