2010 HESTON Family Reunion CoOrdinator Needed
To my HESTON FAMILY Relatives,
Would you like to be our 2010 HESTON FAMILY REUNION Co-Ordinator for the Third Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION to be held in IOWA this summer?I sure could use the help from someone who lives near the area and knows it well enough to help get this HESTON FAMILY REUNION moving to be a success for all of us HESTON cousins.Specific city and location to be determined in IOWA.We also need one (or more) HESTON Cousins to be the Coorrdinator(s) for the Reunion in IOWA in 2010.If you are interested in planning the HESTON FAMILY REUNION; then send me an E-Mail Message.
I had originally wanted it to be held on JUL 03, 2010 Saturday in the wonderful state of Iowa; possibly in the city of Osceola where the previous HESTON FAMILY REUNION took place 50 years earlier to the day on JUL 03, 1960 where 350 HESTON FAMILY descendants gathered for the Second Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION headed by that HESTON genealogist, John P. HESTON.Our cousin, Mr. HESTON, was the Editor and Publisher of the HESTON HISTORIAN newsletters and directories written from 1957 to 1961.He also organized the three Annual National HESTON Family Reunions: 1959 in Pennsylvania, 1960 in Iowa, and 1961 in California. Now 50 years later, I am working on this special genealogy hobby for the HESTON FAMILY.
But that date being only 5 weekends away; I have decided to delay it until AUG 7, 2010 Saturday to give us enough time to plan this event.
The Second Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION was held last year on JUN 20, 2009 Saturday at the Fraternal Order of Police, Bucks County Lodge #53, 1058 Mill Creek Rd in Wycombe, Pennsylvania AND then moved to the Wrightstown Village Library in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania due to the rainy weather. After that some of us stayed to visit the Wrightstown Quaker Burial Grounds also in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania. The HESTON FAMILY REUNION was a wonderful success with 34 HESTON cousins in attendance; 28 of whom initially gathered in Wycombe and then after we moved the REUNION to Wrightstown 6 more HESTON Family Cousins joined us for a total of 34 HESTON FAMILY cousins.Special thanks to Pat Heston Horn for her wonderful presentation of HESTON FAMILY History which her father, John P. Heston, began in the 1950's and 1960's AND which Pat has continued working on for many years herself. Also, a special thanks to Don Owens and Dave Heston for coordinating the REUNION.
The First Annual National HESTON FAMILY REUNION which was held in Newton, Kansas (located near Wichita, Kansas) on JUL 26, 2008 Saturday was a wonderful success with approximately 20 - 25 HESTON cousins in attendance.Exact count will be determined later by REUNION photographs and response from those in attendance.Special thanks to Gail Jones for coordinating the REUNION and to Dave Heston and his mother Grace Heston with whom I got my ride from Motel 6 in nearby Wichita.
Plan now to attend this year for the 50th Anniversary of that previous REUNION in 1960... All interested HESTON cousins need to spread the word AND start efforts to make this a reality.Thank you.
