Michael
Just noticed your posting for Heston. My great grandmother's maiden name was HESTON and sometimes spelt as Hastings. She came across from Ireland, I believe, in the 1850's and settled in Liverpool. I know very little about her childhood or birth place except she was born around 1841. County Mayo was mentioned often by my father, in particular Castlebar and Westport.

Ann married/lived with Edward MORRIS from around 1861. I can find no trace of their marriage but from the 1861 census they were not living together at that time. They were a very poor family. Ann and Edward named their children, Ellen, Anne, Richard, Michael, Patrick and Mary (my direct grandmother).

From the 1861 census of Liverpool, I believe I found Anne under the name of HASTINGS, living with her mother Ellen, brother Thomas and sister Eleanor. I would be very interested to hear from you if you think there is a connection. Please respond to my private email address. chris@wilshawc.fsnet.co.uk

Look forward to hearing from you
