Zebulon HESTON (1670 - 1720) married Dorothy HUTCHINSON
Which original records state when and where Zebulon HESTON (1670 - 1720) married Dorothy HUTCHINSON?
I have read that Zebulon HESTON married Dorothy HUTCHINSON in 1698.I have found second-hand evidence which indicates that our common ancestor Zebulon HESTON married Dorothy HUTCHINSON on 3 DEC 1698 in Hutchinson Manor, Burlington County, New Jersey.I would like to find an original record, which states when and where Zebulon HESTON married Dorothy HUTCHINSON.
This second-hand evidence about Zebulon HESTON is found in at least two issues of the HESTON HISTORIAN published by John P. HESTON of Allen Park, Mich. from 1957 to 1961.It is also found on the Guestbook for the HESTON FAMILY ASSOCIATION at Rootsweb.com (freepages).
Here is a quotation from the HESTON (HISTORIAN) GENEALOGY DIRECTORY, No. 15, (1960) on page 29.(Capitoliztion of her last name - Surname - is mine):
"HESTON, Zebulon ... m Dorothy HUTCHINSON 12-3-1698"
Here are quotations from the HESTON HISTORIAN, No. 18, (1961) on pages 12 and 13.(Capitoliztion of last names - Surnames - are mine):
Page 12 - "Zebulon (HESTON) ... was first located around Crosswicks and then was married on the Hutchinson Land (to Dorothy HUTCHINSON) ... "
Page 13 - "(Dorothy HUTCHINSON's father) Thomas HUTCHINSON will '1689' merely says 'Hutchinson Manor'.(This is referring to the Hutchinson Land shown on the same page on the map drawn by Paul M. HESTON in SEP 1958).No other identification - no towns, townships. All in Burlington County (New Jersey)."
Here is a quotation from the Guestbook for the HESTON FAMILY ASSOCIATION at Rootsweb.com (freepages).(Capitoliztion of last names - Surnames - are mine). This Guestbook entry which was made by Beverly (HESTON) PRINCE on 2003-10-22 refers to a different County in New Jersey:
"According to a posting on the Quaker roots website, Zebulon (HESTON) married Dorothy (HUTCHINSON) in Hopewell township, Mercer County, NJ. The marriage was recorded at the Chesterfield Monthly Meeting."
The following information about the history of Counties in New Jersey is found on pages 268 thru 270 from the Ninth Edition of THE HANDY BOOK FOR GENEALOGISTS (1999) by Everton Publishers, Inc.Burlington County was an original county formed in MAY 1694.Hunterdon County was formed from part of Burlington County in MAR 1714.Mercer County was formed from parts of Hunterdon County, Burlington County, and two other counties in FEB 1838.This information agrees with what is written in the HESTON HISTORIAN, No. 18 (1961) on page 13 in a paragraph with the title of "Early Geographical Divisions" under a map drawn by Paul M. HESTON in SEP 1958 of New Jersey which shows where the Hutchinson Manor was located in Burlington County. This is where Zebulon HESTON and Dorothy HUTCHINSON got married on 3 DEC 1698.
