I am working on top-down genealogies based on the information in the Hester Newsletter. The only way to get around a brick wall is to work top-down and eliminate other lines. If your post your lineage with dates and locations, I may be able to provide you some information.

The Louisa/Granville and Bladen NC Hesters basically followed the same migrations routes, so you likely belong to one or the other. Fortunately, we can distinguish them with DNA testing. If you can find a male cousin descended through an all-male Hester line (usually bearing the Hester surname), it would be a good idea to test. Until June 24, FTDNA is having a sale, but he could also test at Ancestry.com. See this post for details:
