Robert2 HESTER, christened 10 Oct 1686 in St Peters Parish, New Kent,Virginia; died Aft. 26 Jul 1748 in Hanover Co., VA.when he transferred several tracts of land to his children avoiding primogeniture giving the eldest son claim to it all as he had done. Each son received 200 acres and the daughters received 100 acres. He had inherited his father's estate as the eldest son due to primogeniture law in Virginia. Althugh there may have been younger brothers, none have been found to date. The St. Peter's Parish of New Kent Co., Virginia where Francis lived at the time of Robert's birth, on page 14 has Francis, Mary, and Robert indicating that Francis wife's name was Mary although it is not unusual for a Mary Elizabeth to be called Elizabeth. Most Gedcoms have his mother as Elizabeth Garland.
