Further to Stephen Heskeths update of early Heskeths I copied the family tree of the Rufford Heskeths from a guide to Rufford Old Hall. Unfortunately I had borrowed the guide and had to return it. This was thirty or more years ago and I have never checked the tree for accuracy but note that it tallies quite closely to Stephens list.
Starting with Sir William Hesketh of Hesketh who married Maud Fitton.
His father was William Hesketh of Hesketh and his mother was Elbora dau of Richard de Totleworth.
His father, in turn, was Robert Hesketh of Hesketh (no mother mentioned) and grandfatheranother William Hesketh who married Annabel, dau of Richard de Stafford.
His father was Richard Hesketh of Hesketh & Croston and is the earliest of the line.
I regret I copied no dates but believe that Sir William and Maud were living in the mid thirteenth century.
The guide book mentioned that the pedigree came from the British Museum and had a reference MS44026

Hope this is of help.
