From 1860 thru 1920's are many MANY variations of spelling HERSIG in Toledo, Lucas Co OH. There are also some in Monroe Co MI in 1870.
Have compiled database of many of these families as my 2nd great grandfather Rudolph WACKLE/WACKLEY (1844-1895) used the surname & alias HETZIG when enrolled in Civil War from Swanton, Lucas Co OH in 1861. Many affidavits of HERSIG/HERZIG folks in complete pension file in my possession.
Many are buried in Forest Cemetery in Toledo OHIO.
Willing to share; wanting to make definitive connection to my 2nd great grandfather, possibly thru a Barbara HERZIG (1818-1892),wife of John HERZIG (1828-1902) in 4th ward Toledo Lucas Co OH 1870 census. Believe Barbara (nee??) may be birth mother of Rudolph WACKLE.
Family of John HEIDRICH to include a child Rudolph in Swanton Lucas Co OH 1860 census.
