Hi Guys!
Well this is a pleasent surprise.I am researching the name HERWIG on my husbands side and have found the name spelt in numerous ways.In the census in Kent it has been splet. HERRING, HERVEY and HERING,also I have come across the spelling HERWEG.I am looking for help in traciing people in GERMANY, Prussia to be specific.I have a g-g-great grandfather, Heinrich August HERWIG born 1835 Prussia.Who I have lost track of.He was last known in Folkestone Kent.By his marriage records. I am also looking for shipping records that would relate him to where he came from.
Any help in this task would be great and just to keep in touch with others of the same surname will be great.I have also two lost relatives born 1867 & 1869 Elizabeth and Charles HERWIG.if there is a connection. Please let me know if I can help any of you.
Chris.
