Hi all, My name is Roger Mccombs. While doing McCombs family research I have seen numerous references to a book titled The history of Four Ancient stocks by W.H. McClusky, 1919. It turns out that the book has 4 parts .One of them has your family name on it. I just thought that I would pass this info on to you. After much digging and searching, along with some help from my local librarian I have finally found the correct title of the book. It is: Hervey. a Tree of Four Ancient Stocks:Fourfold Family History (Hervey, Huey, McCombs, McCuskey) written by W.H. McCuskey,printed in 1916.
I searched for the book in the library and discovered that it exists in only 5 libraries in the world. I tried many online searches for this book. I finally found a company called The Higginson Book Company which specializes in re-printing old and out of print genealogy books. I discovered that they re-printed this book in 1997. You can get a soft cover copy for $15.50 & a hard cover copy for $27.50. They print each book to order so they said it takes 8 weeks to get it. Here is the site if you are interested.
