Henry L. Hertz (1847-1926) married Mary Patricia Power (1860-1944)at St Patrick's Church in Chicago in 1880. (Mary was my paternal grandmother's [Margaret L.Power/Crowe 1864-1941] eldest sister). They had 6 children born in Chicago ; Martin -1887, Louis -1888, Margurite-1890, Paul -1892, Hariett -1894.
Henry was an accountant and Republican politician from Cook County, elected Coroner of Cook County, Illinois State Treasurer and Illinois Collector of Revenue. He was also Commodore of the Pistakee Lake Yacht Club .
He and his wife are buried in Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, IL, Lot 5, Block 4, Section D. (Hertz monument)
I recall, as a young boy meeting Mary, visiting Louis and his daughters Helen and Anita at their resort home on the Fox River about 1934.
Margurite was married to Daniel Harkin. Harriett married Anthony Steyl.
