Hi John,

In response to your request, here are some websites that will be very useful in your research... (this has notary acts, all written in French). (on-line books, found "True Stories of New England Captives" page 267-268 has reference to Thankful-Louise-Therese Stebbens). (this is the site for PRDH, click on Database then public access to search. Found 109 references for VIENS, Jean. This is everyone who has Jean in their name. Covers years 1685-1799. Also found 12 references for Adrien LEGRAIN).

From the book, "Dictionnaire genealogique des familles du Quebec, des origines a 1730" by Rene JETTE.
