My grandmother's name was Averil Lydia Hersey. She was Rosewell (Roswell) Hersey's daughter. She married Gerald Livingston Taylor. I noticed your mention of James Hersey being the father of Rosewell.
I also looked on the Maine Vital records website and found the death record for a James Hersey:
Certificate Number: 6106318
Last Name: HERSEY
First Name: JAMES
Middle Name: L
Date of Death: Saturday, August 19, 1961
Town of Death: CARIBOU
Age at Death: 90 Years
Don't know if this is the same James Hersey but his birth year would be around 1871.
