Hi Betsy,
I too am of the three Williams. From there all my great grandads go like this... Joseph, James, Noah, Noah, Augustine, Alden, Dexter, Paul, William, Me! So does that make us ninth cousins or cousins nine times removed? I always get the two confused.
Back to my original question: Do you have any idea when the first William arrived in North America? I haven't had any luck digging up this info. Maybe it's time to make a trip to Hingham!
