I have looked extensively for two people: Daniel Herren (before coming to Kentucky) and Sarah Herrin. I need help here since I cannot travel at the present. My 1st hypothesis: Daniel Herren of Decatur Co., Indiana; Shelby Co., Kentucky and Clark County, Kentucky is the Daniel Herrin of early 1790s Wilkes County, North Carolina who sold his land to Sarah Herrin. My 2nd Hypothesis (a correlary to the 1st): Sarah Herrin of Montgomery and Pulaski Co.'s Kentucky is the Sarah Herrin of Wilkes Co., NC. Sarah Herrin disappeared from Wilkes Co., NC records at about the same time as Sarah Herrin appeared in Montgomery County, Kentucky records (Montgomery from Clark Co. in 1797). Sarah Herrin had her own household in Montgomery County, KY and the same Sarah married Benjamin Stogsdill in 1800 Pulaski County, Kentucky. Benjamin was the brother of Rebecca Stogsdill, wife of Shadrack Herrin. Being of her own household, Sarah Herrin was a widow. The widow of whom? Edward Herrin who married Sarah Motley in 1792 Wake County, North Carolina... the home of his and Shadrack's parents, Edward and Maryan Herrin. Edward Herrin, Sr was in Wilkes Co., NC in the 1790 Census as "Edwd Herrin". Perhaps his son Edward followed him there... likely so. Then Edward the son died, leaving widow Sarah. Brother Daniel apparently cared for her after Edward and Maryan moved on to Montgomery Co., NC then to Spartansburg District, SC. Daniel went to Kentucky after selling his land to Sarah, then Sarah came later, selling her land in Wilkes Co., NC. Edward Stogsdill was with Daniel and Sarah Herrin in Wilkes County. Edward Stogsdill was a cousin to Rebecca Herrin, and also to Sarah's future husband, Benjamin Stogsdill. Other excuses for this reasoning is that both Daniel and Sarah Herrin disappeared from Carolina records and Edward and Sarah Motley Herrin did also. In summary, the finding (providing a correct hypothesis) is that Daniel Herren came from Wilkes Co., NC and is the son of Edward and Maryan Herrin, and that Sarah Herrin who married Benjamin Stogsdill was the widow of Edward Herrin who married Sarah Motley in 1792 Wake County, North Carolina. Further credence to this is that Rev. Daniel Stogsdill married Greenup Herren in Decatur Co., Indiana and Daniel, son of Vachel Stogsdill, was the nephew of Rebecca Herrin, wife of Shadrack. Edward Herrin who died in 1788 Chatham County, North Carolina is the father of Edward who died in 1813 Spartansburg Dist., SC (wife Maryan). My next hypothesis will be that Maryan was the daughter of John Daniel, next door neighbor to Edward Herrin in Wake Co., NC... hence the name John Daniel Herren in the line of Daniel Herren.
