William S. Herring married a Stephenson per Settler's by the Long Grey Trail about the Harrisons and Herrings. I believe from memory that Alexander and Abigail HArrison Herrin were his parents. Alexander Herring hailed from Sussex Co., DE and his father, Alexander, was from there as well. Unless I'm off a genration, his father was the immigrant Alexander who came intop Brunswick Co., VA.

William S. "disappeared" from researchers. I knew that William Herring that you mention from Hopkins Co. was from PA, but that threw me! Now it makes sense. There were Stephenson's in Hopkons Co. as well. A great connection that you have made! James Gordon Hearon wrote a book about the Western KY Herrings. I have a copy.
