William SR was frequently found in the "History of Rockingham County" VA. A 26 page account of the establishment of the county declared by Gov. Patrick Henry. He worked side by side with Benjamin Harrison to construct the necessary judicial foundation for the county. Great reading!!! There is a mention of Alexander Herring, Bethewell Herring and I know there was a Nelso Herring in another Augusta document.
Apparently William Sr. went to Pennsylvania as per the birth if William Jr. then I loose him until they show up in the 1860 census of Webster County KY.

Any info you may have. If you haven't read the History of Rockingham Co., it's really interesting.
Go to: VAGENWEB Archives site and type in William Herring of Augusta County. That's how I got it, but you probably know where else to get it. I'm new at this.....my email is tudla@aol.com. Anything you can shed on this would be apppreciated. Thanks
