I'm thinking he was probably a nephew of Jane Herrod Peeples, born 30 JUL 1794 in Beaufort Co., South Carolina, died 13 DEC 1852 in Plantersville, Dallas Co., AL. She married William H. Peeples of Beaufort Co., son of John & Catherine McBride Peeples/Peebles, and moved to Alabama. Jane Herrod Peeples' daughter Elizabeth Jane Peeples married John Oden of Talladega Co., native of Autauga Co. The Peeples and Odens had a number of relatives in Perry County where Joseph Herrod married.
