While looking at deed records of Franklin Co., TN today, I ran across four transactions that might be of interest to Herrod families: 1) Roll 106, of Nashville Archives, Book G, p321: 5 Jan 1812 a Jno Herrod was granted 85 acres by the State of Tennessee in the 2nd District on Boiling Fork branch of Elk River, "including the home and part of the plantation wherein John Herrod now lives." Signed: Willie Blount 2) Deed of Conveyance, p 114: 29 Oct 1812 for $800, a John Herrod received the land of Grant #4324 (Reg'd), which was on the line of Andrew Jackson and John Hutchins, from James M. Lewis of Maury Co., TN. Testators: George M. Lusky and John Robinson. 3) D of C, p 198: 28 Dec 1812 , for $1000, a John Herrod sold 126 acres on Boiling Fork to William Sharp, Sr. Sworn in court by Richard Sharp and William Corn. 4) D of C, p 115: 16 Feb 1810, for $500, James and Elizabeth King sold 2 negroes, 1 woman named Joney and one child named Joe to Catherine Herrod. Testators: James Davis, Wm Walker, and Samuel Blair. Notify Administrator about this message?
