Does anybody know anything about an Ellen Herrington who was living in Bradford in Yorkshire, England around 1865? All I know for sure about her is that she had a son - Richard - in 1865, who is my great-grandfather. She was unmarried and almost certainly illiterate. But we have found no trace of her so far in the records after that date - no marriage or death registration for example. She may have moved elsewhere in the UK or emigrated, so it is hard to know where/when to look in the records for her possible marriage/death. The only possible candidate we've found so far is an Ellen Herrington, born in Scotton, Yorkshire, around 1835, who worked as a servant for a Charles Lumb in Bradford (1861 UK census).
Any information on the mysterious Ellen Herrington would be gratefully received.
