Looking for info. on a baby girl born to a woman (Harrington or Herrington) in New York in 1883 and adopted by Moses and Emma Pharo. Family lore says that the birth mother (Harrington) had previously given birth to three sets of twins. She became pregnant while bed-ridden from a stroke, and was able to give birth. The baby was very small and black at birth. She was adopted by Moses and Emma Pharo who were cousins to the Harringtons, and named Ida. The Pharos had four of their own children, and all had immigrated from Surry Co. England. The family moved to Allegan, Michigan.
