Diane,
It's nice to hear from extended family members. I first tried to find "John" about 10 - 12 years ago. My Mom convinced me to try again. I was hoping someone would have found some more info by now, but it is still the same brick wall with John. I think it is going to take someone very dedicated to go to NC and do a lot of physical looking at old archives, etc. Maybe find someone with a family bible that hasn't been "published".
