I just wrote this letter to Jim Herring who has placed Julines Herring as the father of the immigrant, John Heron: I know that you have pointed toward Julines Herring as the father of John, the immigrant. However, both John Heron's immigration (ships passenger's list in Hotten's) were below a letter from Sir Edward Heron to Sir Humphrey May in 1627. Sir Edward Heron of Cressy Hall, High Sheriff of County Lincolne) had a daughter, Theodosia, who married Sir Francis Molyneaux. The "Mullinax" family married in with the Herrings (Hernes) in the Northern Neck of Virginia... and even in the 1800s in Georgia. Sir Edward Heron was the son of Sir Edward Heron of the Order of Bath, Baron of the Exchequer, and his wife Anne Vincent. The elder Sir Edward was the son of William Herron/Hearne of Lincolnshire. He had brothers Sir John Heron of Cressy and Henry Heron of Cressy, Member of Parliament. Also... Jane Heron was the sister to Sir Edward Heron of Cressy who was well-known to Capt. John Smith, whose father was George Smith and mother a Rickard (spelled various ways). A Rykes woman married John Hearne back in the late 1500s in England. The Ricks family of Southampton Co. was still associating with Dennis Herne/Herrin in 1760s. I see that Rickard and Ricks could be of the same origin as the Rykes name from which both surely originated. Any thoughts on this by anyone? Notify Administrator about this message?
