Welcome back! I'm not going to try to answer your questions since it has been so long since I investigated your folks. (I grew up in Hendricks Co., Indiana and my parents lived on or close to where the Herrins lived in Belleville, Indiana). I have looked further into the origins of the Harrison Co., KY Herrins and neighboring Grant Co. The wife od Smith Herren was buried in the Irons Cemetery. If you go back to KY you will find a Harrison Co., KY Census record for Smith Herren, but little else. However, John S. Herrin does exist. I belive that this was John Smith Herrin. You know that Alexander Herring, Sr. of Rockingham Co., VA married Margaret Reed Smith? I would think there is a connection there. Alexander Herring, Sr. was in 1804 era Greene Co., KY. Green County was just a few miles from the Lincoln birthplace in Larue Co. and of course Thomas Herring Lincoln was their cousin. Alexander (and son Alexander) moved to Clermont Co., Ohio which is pretty near to Grant CO., KY. In Clermonst Co. (And he disappeared there) was William S. Herrin, likely the known brother to Alexander, Sr. I'm still working on this line.... but help is appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
