Looking for parents of Susan Herring born abt 1795 who married abt 1802 to John Hugh Barr, son of patriot, James Barr, probably in or near Frederick or Berkeley co, VA , later WV. By 1839 the couple had removed to Illinois and appear on the 1840 and 1850 census of Illinois.
Any information about Herring families of VA, MD, PA, NJ, IL would be helpful for the time period of 1776 to 1850especially with any connections to the Barr, or Miller or Brannon or Gano families who lived in Back Creek District of Berkeley County, VA, near Martinsburg.
