I just came across this series of posts and don't know if you are still working on Charles but I just became aware of collateral link with my family.
A short bio was printed on Charles Herridge in the Beaver (IA) Centennial Book - I thought this might be some help to you.
"Charles Andrew Herridge, son of George and Sarah Herridge, was born Nov. 18, 1872, in Wincanton, England. At the age of 2 1/2 years he came with his family to New Brunswick, Canada, where they lived for 6 years, then moved to Marshall County, Illinois. In 1895 he, with his parents, moved to a farm south of Beaver and have since lived in that area.
In January, 1902, he was united in marriage to Clara Rosetta Steinshower. There were the parents of 4 children; Zola, Lewis, Marie and Iva. Charles was the last of the George Herridge family which consisted of 8 brothers and sisters. Clara died in August of 1955 and Charles died June 6, 1967."
Clara was the daughter of Serilda Evaline "Eva" SPARKS. Eva married at least three times - the first to a "YATES", the second to George STEINSHOWER and the third to Charles Albert BARNES. C.A. Barnes is in my line.
