I have an original postcard photograph of a group of children, all who are named, taken about 1918, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Based on census records of names of the 27 children in the picture, photo was surely taken in Ohio Co., KY, and probably in Prentiss, for most of the families lived there. Children are from about age 6 to 16, and there is 1 man and 2 women who look between 20-30 – so I assume this is a school photo.
Among names on the photo are:
- Herrel children: Ocie and Hallie. In 1920, Prentiss (Ohio Co.) KY, Ocie was 13 and Hallie was 17.
- Taylor children: Clyde, Rhoda, Mildred and Leonard. In the 1920 census for Prentiss (Ohio Co.) KY I found them to be children of Hurshel B. and Josie Taylor. In 1920, Clyde was 18; Rhoda, 11; Mildred, 16; and Leonard, 14.
- Southard names: Gordon and Pearl. Gordon in 1920 was 16, son of Thomas and Ona Southard of Prentiss. Pearl was age 30, wife of Dan, and lived Ohio Co., KY; she appears to be one of the teachers of the group.
Get back to me at email@example.com if you are related to any of these names.
