I am searching for information on Christian or Christopher Herr & wife Magdalene, who were in Tyrone Twp., Fayette Co., PA in 1798. Christian Herr sold 247 acres, 64 perches of his warrant & patent ("Freedom") in Ligonier Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA to Frederick Ambrose -- Deed Bk. 4:132-133.
The land warrant & patent data has him as Christopher Herr, but he is Christian Herr on this deed, dated 28 May 1798.
The deed also mentions a Jacob Herr who will be buying the remaining portion of the "Freedom" tract, nearly 115 acres. Any idea about either Christian Herr (or Jacob Herr) in Fayette Co.? Would like to know more about where Christian Herr came from, and his children, if any. I believe there were several men of this name in Lancaster Co. around 1800.
