Pontiac Deaths
from the Pontiac Daily Press Monday, Sept. 23, 1946
Charles W. Herr, 67, of 100 Mechanic Street, died in an Oakland county hospital at 5 p.m. Sunday, following an illness of five months. Born in Allen, Ind. Dec 15, 1877, he married Rebecca Meredith. Coming to Pontiac from Oxford 40 years ago, he was a mason by trade.
He is survived by three daughters, Marie Herr, Mrs. Vera Smith, Mrs. Clara Lemon of Pontiac; three sons, Kenneth and Donald Herr of Pontiac, Charles S. Herr of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, George Herr of Auburn Heights, Frank Herr of Hammond, LA; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Retynski of Omaha, Neb; Mrs Carrie Gordon and Mrs. Leone Dimitroff of Pontiac. Funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Farmer-Snover Funeral Home with the Rev. L.L.Maslon officiating with the burial in the Oxford Cemetery.
