Since I posted the previous message I've learned that I made some mistakes that need to be corrected.

Sara Moore was the second wife of John Harrod. She was not killed by Indians. His first wife was killed by Indians, However it was not Carolin Downey.

i. James Harrod b. April 14 1744 North Carolina did not marry Elizabeth McCarty.

The James Herod who married Elizabeth McCarty was born 1765 in North Carolina. He is the son of James Herod born 1738 in Virginia and died 1783 in Tennessee under Mysterious circumstances.

James Herod born 1738 is the son of Thomas Herod/Harrod born 1714 Virginia and Catherine Hunt. This Thomas may be the son of James Harrod and Maria Kent. There is no proof that this is correct.

The children of James Herod and Elizabeth McCarty are

i. James Herod b. April 14 1765 North Carolina
m. Elizabeth McCarty June 15 1802. She was born 1768 and died in Attala Co. Mississippi.

There children,

William Herod b. 1801 (newly discovered)
i. Jacob Herod b. 1803 probably Tenn.
ii. James Madison Herod b.Aug.4 1804 Tenn.
iii. John Herod b. 1805
iv. Josiah Joseph Herod in 1807, Stewart Co. Tenn. d.1860 in Houston Co. Texas
v. Elizabeth Herod b.Sept. 1811 in Tenn.
vi. Margaret Herod b. 1810
vii.Daniel McCarty Herod b. 1812 Stewart Co. Tenn. d. 1881, Houston Co. Texas.
