I read your message of January 05, 2002 and am looking for some information about a Herod. I think her name was Miriam Herod and she married Michael Swaim about 1817to 1822 as they had a son born Mar. 24, 1822.
I an not find anything about this person and was told that my great, great grandmother's name was Mary Lane instead of Miriam Herod that I had reason to believe it was since my great grandfather's name was Herod Blake Swaim. Do you know if she could have married Michael Swaim after her marriage to Daniel Lane as that would explain the confusion about her name being Mary Ann instead of Miriam and Mary Lane instead of Miriam Herod.
If you know anything about this person would you please either post a message or e-mail me direct as I can not find anything about her, when she was born , her parents or when she died. I have been looking for this information for months. I found the Herod's family name in Tennessee and the Swaims were from North Carolina so I don't know where they went after that. Michael's first wife, Anna Rosina Lanius, died in 1817. And he did remarry, and had other children besides my great grandfather who came west to Iowa in 1853. I have searched the
records in several counties in North Carolina and have not found them after his remarriage. I would appreciate any information you could give me. My great grandfather married Emily Jane Hodges in Indiana and they stayed there for a short period and then came on west to Iowa. This is where my family is from.
