My son is marrying into the Herndons of Fluvanna County, VA, and I am doing this research for them based on one conversation. I traced Ella Mae Haislip back to Robert Haislip, Jr. (b. 1735 in MD) who married Mary Rountree Haden (b. abt. 1769, MD). Their son John (b. abt. 1786) married Lucy I. Johnson (b. abt. 1786) in 1802, Fluvanna. Their son John H. Haislip (b. 1817, Fluvanna), a farmer, married Sarah (Sallie) E. Hughes (b. 1838, Fluvanna) on 3 Sept 1857 in Fluvanna. Their daughter was Ella Jane Haislip. I guess I’m really looking for the Haislip-Banks connection, so I’ll ask for more information. Sounds like I need to dig around in Fluvanna County in person where seven generations of her family have lived. Any other suggestions?
