This name is unfamiliar to me, but I just saw it in a paper I picked up in the Prince Georges (Maryland) Genealogical Society Library. It is their bulletin for May-June, 2004, Vol. 35, Issue 5. There is a list of the children of Thomas Gantt and Susanna Mackall of P.G. County. One of their sons, John Mackall Gantt, b. 1762, d. 1811, md. Mary Sprigg Hermance. The Sprigg name is well-known in several areas of Maryland.
I am not researching these families; just entering information I hope will be helpful to someone.
