Looking for information about the Herrmann/Herrman/Hermann/Herman family from Wolka? Lomza, Russia-Poland. They all settled on eastern Long Island, NY in the early 1900's.
My grandmother Josefa Herrmann arrived in May 1903. She married Bronislaw Janeczko (Janesko) and the settled in Sag Harbor. She died just before I turned one and I never heard about any of her family.
Her brother Josef Hermann arrived in Dec. 1907. I also found Ellis Island manifests for Leohadia and Janina Herman arriving in March 1911 going to meet their brother Josef in Sag Harbor. Their father was listed as Jesef Herman in Wolki, Lomza.
I also found a mainfest for Piotr Hermann arriving in June 1911 who's father was listed as Josef Hermann from Wolka, Lomza. He was going to meet his brother Paul Hermann in Southampton. I found the manifest for Pawel Hermann from Walka arriving in April of 1901 to meet his brother Adam Hermann in Southampton. I have not found any records for Adam except an index for a census showing an Adam Hermann from Poland living in Southampton stating he immigrated in 1898. I am not sure if Piotr, Pawel and Adam are siblings of my grandmother.
Any information would be appreciated.
