I'm desperately seeking information on Nancy Ella HARRINGTON's parents. The family story is that when she was very young, there was an indian raid during the war where her and her brother were spared. They were taking home, supposedly, by an army captain by the name of HARRINGTON and raised with his family. I assume the two indian children were given their names of Nancy Ella HARRINGTON and Jim HARRINGTON. (when she died, her death records show a surviving brother named Jim HARRINGTON). In her bible and in other places I have seen her birthdate and place listed as Dec., 1863 somewhere in Mississippi. I assume that maybe that was a date they gave her for her birth, not knowing exactly when it was. She later married my grt-grandfather James Preston BLANSIT, Sr. on Dec. 16, 1883 and had 5 sons and 2 daughters. She died in 1945 in Enid, Garfield County, OK. After her marriage in MS, I can find the family in various places: AR, TX, and finally OK, where they stayed until their deaths, children included. I have reason to believe that the HARRINGTON that raised her was either a James or a John, not for sure though. There's also been mention of a Kittie HARRINGTON and Nelson HARRINGTON? Also, I've heard maybe they lived on a farm next a family by the name of HUGHES. This would have been in MS when Nancy was a child. I have no idea where in MS they were, so I'm finding it difficult to know where to look for information. If anyone knows anything about any of this story, please let me know. Any little tidbit could be a treasure of information to me. Thank you. Cheryl
