My husband's line begins with William Herd born September 7, 1809 in Hancock County, Tennessee who married Eliza Roller, born June 14, 1816. I don't go any further back than that -- but there seems to be some similarities. One of their children was Alfred Burrel Herd who is my husband's great-grandfather.
