Searching for information on Herd Family immigrated from Perth Shire, Scotland in the early 1830's. The Five Brothers opened a marble quarry at Marble Valley near Talladega Springs. Geroge, David, John, Alexander, and Thomas. Thomas returned to Scotland, the rest of the brothers remained in the states, John and Alexander raised families. John Herd is my husband' GGGrandfather.
