Carol,
I am descended from Benjamin Herbison, 3rd child of John Herbison and Anne Warren of Junetown, Ontario. Adam Herbison was their 10th, born 1854 - married Jane Morrison (b. 1858) in 1881. For some reason, Blanche is the only child I have - so thanks already for filling names and dates for the rest of the family.
John was born June 4th, 1804 in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He came to Canada in 1827 and settled on land in Junetown, Yonge Township, Leeds County, Ontario.
Amazingly the stone and timber house he built in 1847 still stands! Ann Warren was born in 1816 in Wexford, Ireland and came to Canada in 1821 with her parents Benjamin Warren andMary Quinsey. John was a hand loom weaver and remained productive on his farm till late in life. John and Ann are buried in the Yonge Mills cemetary.
I can put you in touch with a relative, a Greer - his motherwas a younger sister to my grandfather, who is in his 90's but very sharp - he remembers Adam personally, from his boyhood, if you're interested.
I can fill you in on other members of the family if you like - let me know.
What is your connection to Adam?
Bob
