A biography of George Herbert is included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: John J. and Martha Herbert, natives respectively of Germany and England. In 1881, George married Miss Nancy Seright, a native of Illinois. Herbert children: George, Arthur J., Emma, Martha, Joseph, Henry. Mrs. Herbert died in 1889.
