Might this have anything to do with Georg Casper Hoeppener who arrived from Germany on the ship 'Leathley' at Philadelphia in 1753? He apparently is also the individual in the Shenandoah Co., VA 1783 tax lists (9 whites, no slaves) & the 1785 list (with 8 whites). Contact me here or at magicpool@earthlink.net
