HENWOOD - FRASER - HATFIELD
Subject: Re: Parrsboro "Ancestral" Newsletter
I am interested only because my Loyalist ancestor, Lt. Francis Frazer (grant at King's County, now (Frazerville,) Cumberland, N.S.) is mentioned in one reference as having "married" a Miss Henwood.
In the early Parrsboro Book records, his four children are baptized in 1787- three of whom as infants, and one as an adult.
The adult daughter marries very soon afterward.
I have the marriage of Francis & Diadoma Morris in 1769, Middlesex County, N.J.; and wonder if he could have been married previously to a Miss Henwood who may have been the mother of Naomi - the eldest and "adult" child baptized.
Another researcher:
Lt. Francis Fraser/Frazer married a Diadema Morris January 26, 1769 according to the rites of the Church of England.
They had four children baptized, listed in the Parrsboro Township Book, three were infants and one Naomi Fraser was an adult.
Yesterday I received this from a Hatfield Researcher:
"Captain John Hatfield, Loyalist," compiled by Abraham Hatfield, publishedby the New York Genealogical and Biographic Society, 1943; reprinted in 1982 by Wm. MacNab and Son, Ltd., Halifax, N.S. On page 18, I found the following: "John Hatfield (2) [son of Captain John (1)]. The date of his birth is unknown but he undoubtedly was born before his family moved to Nova Scotia, as the record shows that three children were in the family group when they arrived at Fox River. He died Aug. 7, 1855, in Fox River, N. S., in the 77th year of his age. He married Aug. 8, 1796, at Parrsboro, N. S., in St. George's Church, Mary Fraser, dau. of Lt. Francis Fraser, whose wife was Miss Henwood of New Jersey. Mary Fraser was born ----, 1779, and died Nov. 2, 1866. The date is on her gravestone."
Has anyone data to sort this out ---- my interest is Fraser - Henwood. Would love to know who her parents were and when she was born.
