David HENTHORN = Elizabeth RAMSEY

Greetings, cousins

I find that I am related to the Henthorns through Samuel Ramsey, half-brother to Elizabeth Ramsey who married David Henthorn in 1815. The father of Elizabeth and Samuel was James Ramsey, who joined the "Illinois Brigade" of George Rogers Clark's 175 Virginia Volunteers who captured British forts at Kaskasia, Cahokia, and Vincennes during the Revolutionary War. When mustered out, he was given bounty land in Clark Co, Indiana.

However, I have no information on his origins. Have any of you Henthorns researched your ancestry enough that you have information on this man? I would like to know where in Virginia (or elsewhere) he came from and who were his parents.

Again, thanx muchly in advance.

BTW, the Clark Co web-page has a 105 page genealogy on this Henthorn family, if anyone's interested.

Don Fleming
