Coat-of-Arms ?

I've read that to have any Coat-of-Arms, or family crest, is in reality very difficult to prove because very few that were actually issued ended up as immigrants to other countries, and that not all the record books are complete, and even then, you have to prove lineage back to that particular person. Then one needs to know that British heraldry is usually more difficult to prove than Irish or Scottish heraldry...Then the heraldry people have more strick rules with this topic of family crests and who can legally display them, etc, etc,... so anyway, I know it's probably a longshot, but a nice guy in Australia sent me a xerox copy of a "Henthorn family Crest". Has anyone done research into this possibly being true, that a Henthorn family was part of an Irish Sept (knight)?
Another question I had: After reading many posts on this Henthorn forum, I get the vague impression that the Americans who seek Henthorns seems to be related through the same one original family...is that an assumption that others have?
Just Curious.
