The father of Jesse Henson, Sr. was William H. "Billy" Henson born 13 Apr 1803 in North Carolina. He married Lavina Osburn/Osborn 7 Apr 1824 in KY. Lavina is a daughter of Jesse Osburn/Osborn and Sarah Elizabeth Lemaster of Mud Lick, Flat Gap, Johnson Co., KY. "Billy" and Lavina had 9 children: Jesse Sr., Pollyann, Elizabeth, Anna, Louisa, Mary, John, Frackin and Sousa. Wm "Billy" Henson and his wife died in Washington Co., AR.

William H. "Billy" Henson's father was also a William. He was born in Harper's Ferry, VA in 1745. His father was Paul Henson, mother unknown. He married Ann Jacobs b. 1759 in Harpers Ferry, VA. This Wm died on 20 Sep 1830 in KY.

I am a direct descendent of these gentlemen. The lineage is (1) Bill Mattheis son of of V. Lucille Lyons and William Mattheis. (2) V. Lucille Lyons is the daughter of Nettie Perdue and Bruce P. Lyons. (3) Nettie Perdue is the daughter of Maudy Frances Henson and Richard E. Perdue. (4) Maudy Frances is the daughter of Jesse Henson, Jr and "Patsy" Ann Harrison. (5) Jesse Henson, Jr. is the son of Jesse Henson, Sr. and Phebe Fraley. You have the rest Jesse Sr., Wm. Billy, William and Paul.

All of these folks except myself and my father are natives of VA, NC, KY or Washington Co., AR. My mother was born in Winslow, AR, and her parents were born in Washington Co. The balance lived there and died there.

I assume we are "cousins". Please send be more info. If you give me your email address I will send you a GEDCOM file with many Hensons and related Osburns/Lemasters/etc. Or you can see the William G. Mattheis Home Page at for the same data. Please do not hesitate to contact me. The best relatives I have found doing genealogy are the live ones.

Have a great day.

Bill Mattheis
